COUNTRY MUSIC MARATHON....
If you're in Nashville Saturday, you'll have the opportunity to
hear 27 country music bands along the course of the Country Music
Marathon! Bring your toe-tappin' running shoes....and prepare for
warm weather. Over 39 penguin runners from the Brigade and Courage
to Start lists are running CMM.
Stop by the Team Penguin Booth #907 in the expo to see us please!
John, Karen, and Ma Bingham will all be there. On race day John
will be leading the 5 hour pace group and Karen will be on the course
supporting runners. John's the honorary race director of CMM, so
keep your eye on the local media for possible interviews too.
If you're not in Nashville, you can STILL join the fun. The race
will be televised. Locally, it will be shown on both FOX 17 and
UPN Nashville, and ESPN will televise it nationally. Schedule: Fox
17 - Sunday, May 7 @ 12:00 Noon, UPN Nashvillle - Sunday, May 7
@ 10:00pm, ESPN - Tuesday, May 19 @ 1:30pm, and Saturday, June 3
@ 5:00am.
KENTUCKY DERBY MINI....
And then there's the Mini in Louisville. One of the first and premier
penguin encounter events. There'll be a gaggle (Bill K's terminology!)
of penguins there too for the race on Sunday, April 30. Join the
half marathon Derby fun! It's a guaranteed memorable weekend!
NEW HOME FOR PENGUIN BRIGADE....
The Penguin Brigade listserv moved on April 21 from it's home at
MTSU on the penguin-l server to the WaddleOn.com server. The move
seems to have gone fairly smoothly. Many thanks to Bob Busch and
Stan Maring for their years of labor as volunteer list administrators
of penguin-l . None of us realizes the extent of their behind the
scenes work to keep penguin-l running smoothly. Thank you both!
Andrea Hames and Dave Campbell continue as list volunteers who send
welcome greetings to new members and monitor the list content. Our
thanks to them also!
PENGUIN
WORLD CONFERENCE II....
The second annual Penguin World Conference is just around the corner!
To be held at the Vermont City Marathon and Marathon Relay on May

race and party in Burlington. We had a great time last year in Chicago,
so join us here to put faces to the names, make new friends and
renew connections from previous encounters!

be found at http://www.WaddleOn.com by clicking on Team Penguin
then World Conference. The updated list of the registrations received
for PWCII is at http://www.FeetinMotion.com/PWC/received.htm.
If you have not registered, but plan to, write to [email protected]

tickets for the Pre-Race VCM Pasta Dinner at which John Bingham
will speak now. LAST CALL for Pre-Race Pasta Dinner tickets--email
Cathy ASAP, then download the Registration Form and send with your

BOSTON PENGUIN
FLIGHT SCHOOL....
Penguin Flight School in Boston (actually at Babson College in Wellesley,
Mass) is just around the corner--June 8-11. If you're interested
in attending, email [email protected]
or check out the WaddleOn.com webpage under Team Penguin/Running
camps for details and a registration form NOW! The registration
deadline is approaching...and the session is filling up fast. John
and Roy Benson (nationally known coach on effort-based training)
will be leading the runs and classroom sessions. This will be the
third year for Flight School at Babson and we've had nothing but
glowing reviews from previous participants.
That's all for now folks. Be careful out there!
